Honda’s founder, Soichiro Honda, had a love for motorcycles and race cars from a young age. He regularly tuned cars and entered them into races. He eventually acquired financing to open Tokai Seiki, a piston ring manufacturing company. The company went on to produce piston rings for Toyota and eventually sold the company to them. The funds were used to start a company that built motorcycle engines. In 1949, the company was liquidated, and the funds were used to incorporate Honda Motor Co., Ltd. The first motorcycle, with frame and engine built by Honda left the production line in 1949. By 1964 they would become the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles.

In 1963, Honda produced their first vehicles, a small pick-up truck named the T360 and the s500 sports car. Over the next few decades, Honda would expand their product line as well as operations. In 1986, they introduced their successful Acura brand to the American market to try and expand in the luxury vehicle market. They would go on to become the 2nd largest Japanese automobile manufacturer and one of the largest in the world.

The Honda Difference

Honda offers a full line of reliable, fuel-efficient and fun-to-drive vehicles with advanced safety technologies sold through over 1,000 independent U.S. Honda dealers. Their lineup includes several award-winning compact vehicles, sedans, crossovers, SUVs, a pickup truck and minivan.

Honda has become known for their reliability and high resale values. Their vehicles are manufactured to exact tolerances using a combination of different steels and aluminum body panels. Each of these materials has different moldable properties. If you experience hail damage or dents, you want to bring it to a qualified paintless dent removal (PDR) technician. A PDR technician will use special tools to get behind the body panels and gently massage out the dings and dents while keeping your original manufacture paint and finish. This can help maintain resale value and keep your car looking its best.
